Senior UX Designer (Hybrid, Lehi)

Lead end-to-end UX strategy and product experiences for Verisk’s insurance analytics solutions. Drive research, usability testing, design systems, and cross-functional design decisions while mentoring fellow designers.

Description

  • Set experience strategy and create end-to-end flows for an assigned product area
  • Apply accessibility and usability standards while championing inclusive design
  • Partner with product managers and engineers to guide product direction and prioritize design work
  • Lead usability testing and translate findings into strategic design improvements
  • Mentor designers across pods and support design standards and team rituals
  • Solve unfamiliar design challenges with suitable UX methods and tools
  • Engage customers, stakeholders, and teammates to deliver against project objectives
  • Promote design and engineering best practices that support modern, high-performing experiences
  • Build expertise in the assigned product’s features and typical customer workflows
  • Work independently while identifying opportunities within the assigned product
  • Maintain consistent visual and UX patterns across the product and design system
  • Offer design critique and mentorship to other designers
  • Coordinate usability research across projects and product capabilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, certificate, or equivalent training in UX design or a related discipline
  • At least five years of experience in UX design or a related field
  • Experience giving design feedback or informally mentoring other designers
  • Portfolio showing strong UX judgment and end-to-end ownership of complex or ambiguous challenges
  • Proficiency with tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Cloud, UserZoom, UserTesting.com, or Maze
  • Advanced skill in prototyping, wireframing, high-fidelity mockups, information architecture, process flows, and user flows
  • Ability to independently plan and lead customer research
  • Experience leading interactive design processes with cross-functional teams
  • Experience owning and developing reusable UX components or design-system libraries
  • Understanding of modern mobile, web, and desktop technologies
  • Experience managing end-to-end UX strategy for a product area with limited oversight
  • Ability to create scalable, consistent experiences across products
  • Ability to build alignment and clarify ambiguous design decisions
  • Ability to explain design decisions to executives and non-design audiences
  • Collaborative, self-directed approach with strong partnership skills
  • Ability to simplify complex information and develop creative solutions
  • Fluency working with quantitative and qualitative data at scale
