Senior Staff Accountant – Mexico

Manage monthly close, reconciliations, financial reporting, tax compliance, and FP&A support for Redwood Logistics’ supply chain technology business in Mexico.

Description

  • Prepare monthly accruals, amortization, depreciation, reconciliations, debt accounting, elimination entries, and other accounting tasks.
  • Substantiate general ledger, vendor, and business analyses while maintaining accurate records and procedures.
  • Support FP&A by capturing business activity and analyzing financial results against budgets and forecasts.
  • Help the FP&A team prepare budgets and forecasts.
  • Support annual audits and tax preparation with documentation and reconciliations for public accounting teams.
  • Track state and city tax filing deadlines and meet franchise, business, and other tax authority requirements.
  • Research internal and external customer questions about monthly performance across business units.
  • Safeguard confidential information and represent Redwood Logistics’ interests.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned to address business needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
  • CPA certification preferred.
  • Four to five years of experience as a staff accountant and/or auditor.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting standards, controls, and process improvement.
  • Experience with Great Plains Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Access.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, changing environment with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to use relevant information technology systems to improve accounting and reporting processes.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English and Spanish.
  • Must be based in Monterrey or Querétaro, Mexico.
