Senior Software Engineering Manager, DCIM Platform

Lead global engineering teams developing Digital Realty’s secure, Azure-based data center infrastructure management platform. Drive cloud-native architecture, real-time telemetry, and reliable infrastructure systems at scale.

Description

  • Own the architecture, development, and delivery of Digital Realty’s next-generation data center infrastructure management platform
  • Manage global engineering teams spanning employees, contingent staff, and vendor partners
  • Guide the design and delivery of a secure, cloud-native DCIM platform built on Microsoft Azure
  • Lead hiring, interviewing, onboarding, performance management, succession planning, and career development
  • Deliver multiple product and platform initiatives in line with strategic roadmaps
  • Promote Agile delivery through Scrum, Kanban, sprint planning, and continuous improvement
  • Design highly available, low-latency distributed systems for real-time monitoring and control worldwide
  • Develop large-scale IoT and telemetry solutions with Azure IoT Hub, IoT Edge, Stream Analytics, Azure Functions, Azure Data Explorer, and Azure Storage
  • Create secure edge-to-cloud integrations using MQTT, Modbus, and related technologies
  • Build observability, monitoring, diagnostics, automation, and operational excellence through DevOps practices
  • Oversee architectural governance, technology standards, design reviews, and engineering practices
  • Collaborate with Product, Security, Compliance, Infrastructure, and business stakeholders on scalable technical solutions
  • Present technical strategy, progress, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership
  • Define and track platform KPIs, service-level objectives, reliability metrics, and incident response processes
  • Manage vendor partnerships, tooling decisions, and team budgets as applicable

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related discipline
  • 10–15 years leading global software engineering teams that include employees, contractors, and vendor partners
  • 10–15 years designing and delivering large-scale, cloud-native distributed platforms
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Azure architecture and services
  • Proven experience with distributed systems, microservices, and modern software architecture patterns
  • Background building industrial IoT, telemetry, and edge-to-cloud solutions
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as MQTT, Modbus, or comparable technologies
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration platforms including Docker and Kubernetes
  • Strong programming skills in C#, Java, or similar enterprise languages
  • Experience creating CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Ansible
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities
  • Ability to connect technology strategy with business goals and product direction
