Senior Software Engineer, TypeScript & AWS — Toronto Hybrid

Build scalable TypeScript and AWS systems for ExaCare AI’s post-acute care operating system. Lead healthcare workflow features from initial design through production support.

Description

  • Lead product features across the full lifecycle, from investigating workflow needs and shaping technical designs to implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
  • Align architecture, data models, APIs, and integrations with the workflows of customers, operators, and implementation teams.
  • Develop dependable full-stack capabilities for complex healthcare processes operating at scale.
  • Work with TypeScript, PostgreSQL, AWS, and contemporary cloud technologies.
  • Embed automated testing, observability, and secure deployment practices into daily engineering work.
  • Identify rollout risks early and help investigate and resolve production incidents.
  • Develop reusable components, streamline recurring workflows, and enhance integrations and AI-enabled functionality.
  • Partner with colleagues across product, operations, platform, machine learning, and engineering.
  • Help shape system architecture and participate in technical decision-making.
  • Support other engineers through thoughtful code reviews, collaboration, and mentorship.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a comparable technical discipline.
  • At least five years of engineering experience focused on highly scalable distributed systems.
  • Ability to learn unfamiliar technologies quickly and turn broad assignments into practical execution plans.
  • Proven skill in efficiently triaging and prioritizing production incidents.
  • Strong ownership, initiative, and resourcefulness.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented approach with a strong focus on code quality, automation, validation, and testing.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, large language models, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL.
  • Ability to explain technical ideas clearly to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience creating automated workflows.
  • Background developing applied AI capabilities or working with LLM infrastructure.
  • Experience with healthcare workflows, varied care environments, or regulated products.
  • Experience integrating with EHRs or working with health data standards.
  • Experience developing operational tools or product areas requiring substantial onboarding and support.
  • Experience creating reusable patterns or frameworks that increase team velocity.
  • Relevant practical experience may replace a bachelor’s degree.
