Senior Python Backend Engineer - Poland Remote

Build and operate scalable Python services for Sherpany’s meeting management platform. Improve architecture, reliability, CI/CD, observability, and developer experience.

Description

  • Build, operate, and scale reliable Python APIs and services with Django and Django REST Framework
  • Lead architectural improvements across data models, service boundaries, messaging, and zero-downtime migrations
  • Partner with DevOps on Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and delivery pipelines
  • Advance trunk-based development practices and safer deployments
  • Create and maintain comprehensive unit and integration test coverage
  • Work with Frontend, Mobile, UX, and Product teams to define solutions and API contracts
  • Support engineer growth through feedback, pair programming, and design reviews
  • Share chapter knowledge through technical presentations and documentation

Requirements

  • Expert proficiency in Python, Django, and Django REST Framework
  • Strong knowledge of RESTful API design and versioning
  • Advanced SQL and PostgreSQL expertise, including performance tuning, indexing, partitioning, and schema evolution
  • Experience developing resilient asynchronous systems with Celery and message brokers such as RabbitMQ
  • Practical experience applying Redis caching strategies, including eviction policies and cache-aside patterns
  • Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and GitHub Actions
  • Experience implementing canary releases and feature flags
  • Ability to establish product-focused observability with SLIs, SLOs, actionable alerts, and trace-to-log correlation
  • Experience with profiling, tracing, instrumentation, documentation, and regression testing
  • A data-driven approach to solving problems and making decisions
  • Proactive in identifying challenges and recommending improvements
  • Strong collaboration skills across design, product, and engineering teams
