Senior Open RAN System Engineer at Parallel Wireless

Lead the design, optimization, and integration of energy-efficient Open RAN cellular communication systems at Parallel Wireless. Focus on PHY algorithms and cross-functional integration across hardware, software, FPGA, and RF subsystems.

Description

  • Define and document system-level requirements and high-level designs
  • Optimize and fine-tune PHY-layer algorithms to improve product performance and efficiency
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers
  • Act as the primary technical contact for system, PHY, and RF matters
  • Coordinate with hardware, software, FPGA, and other subsystem teams to ensure seamless integration
  • Conduct hands-on laboratory work
  • Design, implement, and integrate advanced cellular communication systems for next-generation base-station products
  • Lead system work from feature design and development through integration

Requirements

  • At least five years of experience developing or integrating wireless communications or PHY-layer systems
  • Strong understanding of receive and transmit PHY and RF chains
  • In-depth knowledge of wireless communication systems
  • Practical experience using RF laboratory test equipment
  • Proficiency with scripting languages such as MATLAB or Python
  • Strong system-level understanding in multidisciplinary hardware, software, and RF environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Hebrew and English
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in a global, multi-site environment
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify root causes in complex systems
  • Familiarity with software and firmware development
  • Experience with laboratory test equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to accelerate troubleshooting, research, and system design work
