Senior Offshore Wind Structural Engineer – AtkinsRéalis (Hybrid)
AtkinsRéalis is seeking a senior structural engineer to design fixed and floating offshore wind structures. The role covers foundation projects, technical reporting, and compliance with industry standards.
Description
- Contribute to conceptual, FEED, and detailed design projects for major offshore wind turbine generator assets
- Develop practical engineering solutions for structural repairs and upgrades
- Design and analyse fixed and floating offshore structures
- Design fixed and floating foundations for offshore wind turbine generators and substations
- Account for site-specific hydrodynamic loads and environmental conditions
- Work with multidisciplinary teams on offshore structural engineering projects
- Apply API, DNV, NORSOK, and other applicable design and certification standards
- Evaluate, review, and interpret technical information for offshore structural design
- Produce clear technical reports
- Oversee and review manufacturing drawing development
- Ensure design work follows engineering procedures and Project Quality Plans through appropriate review, checking, and approval
Requirements
- Solid offshore industry experience, particularly in primary or secondary steel design for offshore wind turbine generator foundations
- A master’s degree in offshore structures, ocean engineering, structural engineering, or a related discipline
- Strong knowledge of structural mechanics and hydrodynamics
- Chartered Engineer status or progress toward chartership
- SESAM or SACS proficiency is preferred; experience with comparable software may also be accepted
- Programming or scripting experience with Python or VBA is beneficial but not required
- Adaptability across varied working environments
- Willingness to obtain security clearance if required
- Ability to provide evidence of at least five years’ UK residency if required
