- Guide colocation planning worldwide, assess sites for power, space, liquid cooling, and connectivity, and coordinate site exits.
- Plan core platform projects across product lines and locations.
- Set execution priorities, align dependencies, and manage schedules against business goals.
- Work with teams across the business to solve problems and improve network efficiency.
- Turn platform strategies into actionable infrastructure deployment plans.
- Build metro-level resilience and redundancy while supporting growth across Akamai’s global platform.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an equivalent qualification.
- Expert knowledge of internet architecture, optical transport systems, high-density fabric switching, and metro routing.
- Knowledge of colocation infrastructure standards, including liquid-to-chip cooling.
- Ability to analyze data and develop practical solutions while providing technical leadership.
- Experience leading projects.
- Ability to communicate risks and manage multiple stakeholders and priorities.
- Ability to learn technical concepts and explain them to audiences with varied backgrounds.
