Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Klamath Falls, OR
Lead engineering design projects and develop CAM-ready drawings and 3D models for JELD-WEN’s manufacturing operations in Klamath Falls.
Description
- Plan, schedule, coordinate, and deliver JELD-WEN engineering design projects
- Estimate project costs accurately in collaboration with senior engineers
- Assemble appropriation requests with BOMs, approved drawings, project folders, and other required documentation
- Develop drawings and 3D models prepared for CAM applications
- Manage straightforward projects and contribute to brainstorming sessions and design reviews
- Keep project directories, drawings, cut sheets, and redlines current
- Compare project hours with estimates and share progress feedback with the Engineering Manager
- Discuss workload, drafting concerns, and design issues with the Engineering Manager
- Coordinate with material suppliers when necessary
- Assess requirements and develop initial design concepts
- Provide limited supervision to machine fabrication personnel
- Develop familiarity with plant-level processes
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
- Working knowledge of Inventor and other drafting software
- Basic knowledge of strength of materials, statics, dynamics, and machine design
- Familiarity with project management tools and methods
- Ability to learn and understand plant-level processes
