Senior Magento Engineer – Dublin Hybrid

Description
- Develop and maintain tested Magento 2 modules for checkout, payments, promotions, and vouchers
- Connect Magento with payment providers and internal services using REST APIs and message queues
- Diagnose and resolve performance problems across caching, indexing, queues, and checkout flows
- Support load testing ahead of peak trading periods
- Use logs, metrics, and traces to investigate and resolve production incidents
- Participate in code reviews and help shape technical designs and architecture
- Strengthen the CI/CD pipeline
- Use AI tools for code generation, refactoring, review, and testing while validating all outputs before deployment
Requirements
- At least five years of experience building and operating Magento 2 in production, with Magento Open Source or Adobe Commerce accepted
- Strong understanding of Magento internals, including dependency injection, plugins, observers, service contracts, modules, and message queues
- Professional experience with modern PHP 8.x
- Strong object-oriented design skills
- Experience writing PHPUnit tests
- Performance optimization experience on busy stores, including full-page caching, Redis, indexing, and MySQL query tuning
- Understanding of logging, metrics, and distributed tracing for high-traffic stores
- Frontend Magento experience with themes, Knockout.js, RequireJS, and Tailwind CSS
- Daily experience with Docker, Git, and CI/CD
- Regular use of agentic development tools such as Claude Code or comparable tools
- Experience applying AI to scaffolding, code generation, refactoring, testing, code review, debugging, and documentation
- Ability to validate, test, and take ownership of AI-generated code
- Strong prompting and context-management skills within a production codebase
- Ability to communicate technical trade-offs to engineering, product, and QA stakeholders
- Kubernetes experience is helpful and can be developed after joining
- Experience with MCP-based integrations is a plus
- Experience integrating payment gateways at scale is a plus
- Experience preparing ecommerce stores for seasonal peaks is a plus
- Headless or composable commerce experience is a plus
- Experience with static analysis and mutation testing is a plus
