Description
- Create client illustrations across a broad range of visual styles
- Work within established illustration languages and extend them consistently
- Develop moodboards and collect references to define creative direction
- Present creative concepts and supporting references to clients and internal teams
- Create distinctive, ownable illustration styles that align with client brands
- Develop reusable illustration systems, rules, and style guides
- Document illustration styles for broader team adoption and extension
- Explore and help shape the use of emerging tools and technologies, including AI
- Translate complex ideas into clear, engaging visual content
- Apply accessibility standards to web and digital product work
- Collaborate with designers, art directors, and project teams
- Support ongoing creative improvement, innovation, and high-quality execution
Requirements
- At least five years of full-time professional experience as an illustrator
- A portfolio that can be accessed by the hiring team
- Availability for at least three hours of overlap with the Toronto EDT time zone
- Strong foundations in composition, color, and visual storytelling
- Ability to produce illustrations in a wide range of styles
- Ability to adapt illustrations to each client’s brand, audience, and tone
- Ability to work within and extend established illustration languages
- Ability to develop distinctive, ownable illustration styles
- Ability to create and document reusable illustration systems and style guides
- Familiarity with emerging tools and technologies, including AI
- Ability to meet accessibility standards for web and digital products
