Senior Google Cloud Platform Architect – Canada (Hybrid)

Lead secure, scalable Google Cloud transformations for enterprise clients in a senior architecture role. Shape cloud strategy, migrations, modernization, governance, and GCP implementations.

Description

  • Lead enterprise cloud transformation programs for clients
  • Advise customers on cloud strategy and scalable solution architecture
  • Create end-to-end architectures using Google Cloud services and established best practices
  • Build cloud adoption roadmaps, landing zones, governance frameworks, and operating models
  • Conduct cloud assessments and recommend modernization initiatives
  • Establish architecture standards, design patterns, and reference architectures
  • Develop scalable, resilient, secure, and cost-efficient cloud solutions
  • Design architectures spanning compute, storage, networking, databases, analytics, and security
  • Direct workload migrations from on-premises, AWS, Azure, and other platforms to GCP
  • Support containerization, Kubernetes, microservices, and cloud-native application designs
  • Partner with delivery teams on implementation success and operational readiness
  • Facilitate discovery workshops, architecture reviews, and executive presentations
  • Convert business needs into practical technical architecture designs
  • Produce solution documentation, architecture diagrams, proposals, and statements of work
  • Create secure architectures aligned with industry standards and regulatory obligations
  • Incorporate identity and access management, security controls, monitoring, and compliance frameworks
  • Define governance, operating processes, and cloud financial management practices
  • Provide technical direction to consultants, engineers, and project teams
  • Coach technical team members in cloud architecture principles and best practices
  • Advance practice development through service offerings, reusable assets, and thought leadership

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in IT infrastructure, cloud consulting, or solution architecture
  • At least 5 years of experience designing and delivering public cloud solutions
  • Practical experience implementing enterprise-scale Google Cloud solutions
  • Background leading cloud migration and modernization programs
  • Consulting or professional services experience is strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Google Compute Engine, Google Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Cloud Networking, IAM, Security Command Center, and Cloud Monitoring and Operations Suite
  • Infrastructure as Code experience, preferably with Terraform
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices
  • Experience with containers and Kubernetes
  • Experience with data and analytics solutions, GCP AI/ML services, hybrid and multi-cloud environments, enterprise integration patterns, or disaster recovery and business continuity planning
  • Google Professional Cloud Architect certification is strongly preferred; Google Professional Cloud Network Engineer, Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer, Terraform Associate, and CKA/CKAD certifications are also preferred
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively with technical and executive stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Excellent consulting, facilitation, and influencing skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced setting
  • Strong customer focus and commitment to delivery excellence
  • Legal eligibility to work in Canada is required; the employment offer is conditional on a criminal record check.
