Description

  • Deliver and maintain full-stack functionality across user interfaces, backend services, and APIs
  • Create and operate AWS infrastructure that is scalable, secure, and cost efficient
  • Trace data from connected hardware through services and databases to the product interface
  • Contribute throughout the software lifecycle, from requirements and design through implementation, review, testing, release, and monitoring
  • Produce clean, reliable, thoroughly tested code
  • Advance development practices, CI/CD automation, and overall architecture
  • Partner with product, design, hardware, data, and engineering colleagues to turn requirements into workable technical solutions
  • Investigate and fix issues across the technology stack, including production incidents when required
  • Document technical knowledge and share it with the wider team

Requirements

  • A degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
  • Substantial professional experience as a software engineer or developer
  • Strong backend programming ability in at least one language such as Python, Node.js, or Go
  • Professional experience with modern frontend frameworks, including React
  • Hands-on AWS experience covering EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, and IAM
  • Experience deploying, operating, and diagnosing production cloud infrastructure
  • Practical experience using Docker for containerization
  • Confidence working in Linux environments
  • Working knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases
  • Experience developing and integrating REST or GraphQL APIs
  • Understanding of CI/CD, Git, and software testing practices
  • Strong analytical problem-solving ability and careful attention to detail
  • A genuine interest in IoT, connected devices, and fleet or energy management
  • Clear English communication and the ability to work effectively across disciplines
  • A strong ownership approach, from taking features into production through ongoing support
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform or CloudFormation is advantageous
  • Exposure to data engineering, ETL workflows, or analytics platforms is advantageous
  • Knowledge of IoT protocols such as MQTT or CAN, or experience integrating embedded and connected devices, is advantageous
  • Experience with Figma or comparable tools for collaborating on UI design is advantageous
