Senior Full-Stack Engineer - South Africa Remote
Lead full-stack engineering across C#/.NET and Angular or React for software and data solutions. Modernize applications, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, and AI-assisted development practices.
Description
- Lead backend architecture for complex systems and service-oriented applications using C#/.NET and Angular or React
- Set technical direction and choose suitable tools and frameworks
- Own database schemas, data models, and secure, scalable cloud infrastructure
- Apply and evaluate AI coding tools throughout development, testing, and maintenance
- Manage CI/CD pipelines, quality gates, automated testing, and deployment rollouts
- Drive migrations from legacy applications to modern technologies and infrastructure
- Define SLOs and SLIs, using distributed tracing and telemetry to investigate system-wide problems
- Document systems and establish boundaries that support safe extension by engineers and AI tools
- Lead technical discussions, communicate trade-offs, and partner with product teams on delivery phases
- Turn complex problems into clear tickets while balancing delivery speed, security, and compliance
- Mentor engineers at different experience levels
- Help define team practices for safe AI use, review, and knowledge sharing
Requirements
- At least seven years of professional software engineering experience
- Extensive commercial experience with C# and .NET
- Production experience with Angular or React
- A production-grade system you designed, delivered, and supported that you can discuss in detail
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform
- Experience with Linux, containers, and infrastructure as code
- Daily experience using AI coding tools
- Willingness to work in an agentic delivery model
- Experience managing client-facing delivery
- Ability to communicate trade-offs and raise difficult issues early
- Experience in financial services
- Commercial real estate or credit markets experience is a strong advantage
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfort working in an Agile, cross-time-zone team
- Strong self-management skills and the discipline to stay closely connected with a distributed team
- Technologies and practices include C#, .NET, Angular, React, cloud platforms, Linux, containers, CI/CD, AI coding, backend development, microservices, Agile, financial services, telemetry, and infrastructure as code
