Senior Electrical Engineer – Data Centre (Dublin Hybrid)

Senior Electrical Engineer responsible for technical assurance across ORS hyperscale data centre projects in Ireland. The role covers electrical systems review, commissioning, quality oversight, resilience and project handover.

Description

  • Lead electrical design and technical assurance reviews
  • Evaluate electrical calculations, specifications and technical submissions
  • Assess system resilience, redundancy approaches and operational performance
  • Review contractor shop drawings and commissioning records
  • Help resolve technical queries and requests for information
  • Conduct site inspections and construction quality assessments
  • Take part in multidisciplinary design coordination meetings
  • Witness Factory Acceptance Tests, commissioning activities and Integrated Systems Testing
  • Review energisation strategies and operational readiness plans
  • Support project handover, documentation checks and technical close-out
  • Contribute technical expertise to risk reviews and value engineering exercises
  • Provide technical leadership on data centre and mission-critical projects from design through construction, commissioning and handover
  • Collaborate with clients, consultants, contractors, commissioning teams and specialist vendors

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Hold Chartered Engineer status or be working towards chartership
  • At least 10 years of experience in electrical building services, mission-critical facilities or data centres
  • Strong knowledge of medium- and low-voltage distribution systems
  • Strong knowledge of generators
  • Strong knowledge of UPS systems
  • Strong knowledge of switchgear
  • Strong knowledge of transformers
  • Strong knowledge of EPMS platforms
  • Strong knowledge of protection systems
  • Strong knowledge of power monitoring and control systems
  • Strong knowledge of commissioning and testing processes
  • Experience reviewing electrical designs, calculations and contractor submissions
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Ability to work independently and manage technical reviews across multiple projects
