Senior Drainage Engineer - Reno, Nevada (Hybrid)

Description

  • Design and evaluate roadway drainage and regional flood-control facilities
  • Develop studies, technical reports, construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates for transportation work
  • Assist project managers with client relationships, stakeholder coordination, and sub-consultant oversight
  • Work directly with state and local agency clients
  • Plan and lead meetings with project stakeholders
  • Coordinate resource sharing with office leadership and project managers
  • Contribute to proposals, including oral presentations
  • Work with project managers, engineers, technicians, and support staff to deliver projects
  • Manage assigned projects through completion

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure
  • 8–15 or more years of professional hydraulics design experience
  • Background designing roadway drainage and flood-control facilities
  • Experience designing erosion-control and water-control facilities
  • Established experience and relationships with transportation and flood-control agencies are strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with Bentley ProjectWise, MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and other relevant drainage engineering software
  • Advanced knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic tools, including HEC-1, HEC-2, and HEC-RAS
  • Experience following DOT and local-agency procedures and standards for plan preparation
  • Strong understanding of local, regional, state, and federal design criteria
  • Knowledge of DOT, AASHTO, and FHWA highway drainage design criteria and guidelines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer service abilities
  • Self-directed, organized, and detail-oriented approach
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with clients and multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple projects
  • Willingness to support local assignments or workshare projects with other offices
  • Demonstrated record of delivering projects on schedule and within budget
  • Experience supervising technical staff and project teams
  • Interest in continued personal and professional development within a team environment
