Senior Digital Forensics Consultant - Washington Hybrid

Lead digital forensics, eDiscovery, and cyber investigation services for Control Risks clients. Coordinate investigations, data collection, client delivery, business development, and global project teams.

Description

  • Coordinate fast-paced teams and keep work organized against critical deadlines.
  • Support daily resource allocation for the US and Mexico Digital Forensics team.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the Discovery + Data Insights practice.
  • Participate in identifying, collecting, and analyzing computer systems and electronic data sources.
  • Design data collection strategies for unique environments and complex project requirements.
  • Help clients select technology aligned with their project objectives.
  • Oversee project closeout, including data returns and database archiving.
  • Support sales activities by building client relationships, demonstrating expertise and technology, and preparing proposals and estimates.
  • Develop sales leads and new revenue through networking and business development.
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell services within active engagements.
  • Represent the practice at industry events, client demonstrations, presentations, and internal technology initiatives.
  • Create and implement tailored ideas and workflows.
  • Lead evidence management, media tracking, and collection-log documentation.
  • Apply quality controls and established best practices across engagements.
  • Build client relationships and help ensure ongoing client satisfaction.
  • Filter, extract, and stage data from forensic images for processing.
  • Operate commercial and proprietary tools for data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Partner across business lines on technology solutions for privacy, cyber, information governance, compliance monitoring, and insider risk.
  • Coordinate digital forensics services for law firm and corporate clients.
  • Support forensic investigations, cyber incident response, and eDiscovery matters.
  • Define matter requirements, prepare approaches and fee estimates, establish workflows, coordinate tasks, and balance priorities.
  • Work with global Discovery + Data Insights teams in Brazil, EMEA, and APAC to align standards and practices.

Requirements

  • At least three years of hands-on experience in technical or computer forensic investigations.
  • Understanding of industry best practices, procedures, and technology trends.
  • Experience preserving and examining digital evidence on mobile operating systems with industry-standard forensic tools.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard forensic and eDiscovery platforms, preferably including EnCase, FTK, Tableau, X-Ways, Macquisition, Cellebrite, Nuix, ModeOne, Magnet AXIOM, Reveal-Brainspace, and RelativityOne.
  • Clear communication skills across engagement and management levels.
  • Ability to understand complex technical information and explain it to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM).
  • Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint proficiency preferred.
  • SQL and PowerShell experience preferred.
  • Consulting experience on complex matters, including problem-solving, troubleshooting, client work, and internal collaboration, preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Forensics, or a related discipline.
  • CCE, EnCE, or ACE certification preferred; comparable certifications and training are highly valued.
  • Excellent written communication and oral presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel and work in challenging environments up to 50% of the time, with employment authorization verified through E-Verify during onboarding.
