Senior DevOps Engineer - Canada Remote

Lead AWS-focused cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and DevSecOps initiatives for Clario’s clinical research technology. Help deliver secure, scalable, and reliable platforms across distributed engineering teams.

Description

  • Lead the design, delivery, and ongoing improvement of enterprise DevOps and cloud infrastructure solutions
  • Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines
  • Create and manage Infrastructure as Code solutions
  • Work with software engineering, quality engineering, and product teams to deliver secure, highly available platforms
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, deployments, monitoring, and operational workflows
  • Support software builds, releases, and deployments across development, integration, validation, and production environments
  • Implement and maintain monitoring, observability, logging, and alerting capabilities
  • Promote DevSecOps practices and embed security throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Design and support disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity plans
  • Apply Security-by-Design and Privacy-by-Design principles to architecture decisions
  • Work with test automation teams to develop performance, scalability, and reliability testing capabilities
  • Diagnose complex infrastructure and application problems throughout the software delivery lifecycle
  • Assess emerging technologies and recommend relevant improvements
  • Mentor engineers and share effective DevOps practices
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on operational and technical initiatives

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • At least 8 years of experience in DevOps and Platform Engineering
  • Experience with Site Reliability Engineering principles and practices is preferred
  • Experience leading technical initiatives and shaping engineering strategy in complex enterprise environments
  • Proven ability to build and operate large-scale CI/CD platforms and release automation frameworks
  • Strong experience with cloud platforms, primarily AWS and secondarily Azure
  • Advanced knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or comparable tools
  • Strong command of modern DevOps, DevSecOps, and SRE principles and practices
  • Experience with configuration management and automation tools
  • Strong scripting and automation skills in Python, Shell, Java, or comparable languages
  • Experience administering and securing Linux and enterprise infrastructure environments
  • Knowledge of system hardening, patch management, vulnerability remediation, and cybersecurity practices
  • Equivalent practical experience may replace the stated degree requirement at the Department Head’s discretion
