Senior Data Engineer – Brazil (Remote)
CI&T is seeking a Senior Data Engineer in Brazil to build Azure data pipelines, data lakes, and data marts. The role supports enterprise AI transformation through secure, dependable data solutions.
Description
- Build and deliver high-performing Azure data pipelines with ADF, Synapse, and Databricks, using on-premises platforms when needed
- Monitor and maintain production pipelines, resolve incidents and tickets, fix defects, and improve architecture and code
- Contribute to data validation activities
- Ensure systems satisfy business and non-functional standards for performance, security, privacy, GDPR, and LGPD
- Introduce emerging data management and software engineering technologies into existing data environments
- Analyze and structure raw data, then ingest, transform, and publish it to data lakes and data marts
- Work with BI, Data Science, and Software Engineering teams to document and deliver consistent data solutions
Requirements
- Strong experience with the Azure data ecosystem, particularly ADF, Synapse, Databricks/Spark, and ADLS
- Experience creating reports with Reporting Services and dashboards with Power BI
- Proven ability to design, build, and test reliable, high-performance ETL/ELT pipelines
- Willingness to learn and adopt new frameworks and cloud-native technologies
- Ability to mentor and share expertise with junior colleagues
- Knowledge of the Microsoft SQL Server technology stack
- Extensive experience with dimensional modeling and advanced SQL for data marts and data warehouses
- Experience contributing to technical references, defining data standards, and participating in code reviews
- Practical application of software engineering principles, including advanced Git workflows with branches and pull requests
- Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for data solutions
- Knowledge of unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
- Azure or AWS cloud certification is desirable
- Familiarity with data catalog and lineage processes and tools, such as Azure Purview, is desirable
- Python or Scala experience for scripting and automating data processes is desirable
- Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow is desirable
