Senior Content Strategist, Contract (US Remote)
Lead content audits, information architecture, and recommendations for Velir’s enterprise websites and digital experience projects. Build analytical tools and present findings directly to clients.
Description
- Lead large-scale content audits using crawl, analytics, SEO, and qualitative data.
- Analyze and organize large content datasets to uncover patterns, gaps, and prioritized recommendations.
- Create or adapt tools and workflows with code, scripts, automation, or lightweight prototypes.
- Check tool outputs and document workflows for future use.
- Define information architecture, navigation, taxonomy, and search content requirements.
- Recommend page-level content hierarchy and messaging.
- Prepare content prioritization guides, polished presentations, and explanatory visuals.
- Present recommendations, incorporate feedback, and work with design, development, and client teams.
- Lead assigned workstreams and present project work independently to clients.
Requirements
- At least five years of content strategy experience, preferably at an agency or consultancy.
- A portfolio showcasing work on complex websites.
- Experience evaluating websites with thousands of pages and turning messy or incomplete data into well-supported recommendations.
- Ideally, familiarity with Screaming Frog, web analytics platforms, and SEO research tools, including interpreting and combining their outputs.
- Hands-on use of Codex, Claude, or Figma Make for problem-solving, automation, or idea development.
- Good judgment when reviewing tool outputs and managing client data.
- Ability to spot inefficient workflows and create or adapt improved approaches.
- Technical fluency with structured data and web fundamentals.
- Ideally, familiarity with GitHub and basic scripting or development using Python, JavaScript, or HTML/CSS.
- Strong skills in presentation design, storytelling, client communication, and documentation.
- Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams.
- Must not require visa sponsorship; Velir cannot accept candidates on OPT or CPT.
