Senior Coding Auditor at EXL – Chennai Hybrid
EXL is hiring a Senior Coding Auditor to review outpatient surgery claims and support coding quality and compliance. The role focuses on audit accuracy, productivity, coding standards, and HIPAA and OIG adherence.
Description
- Adhere consistently to all standard operating procedures.
- Complete assigned audits accurately and to quality standards.
- Meet established quality and productivity goals.
- Follow project-specific procedures and instructions.
- Escalate issues and recognize emerging trends.
- Maintain daily productivity, clarification, and other required logs.
- Seek clarification from the Manager or Team Lead when needed.
- Respond promptly to all Manager emails.
- Use sound problem-solving skills to resolve issues.
- Support team-wide compliance with HIPAA and OIG requirements.
- Attend required in-office training sessions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or a paramedical discipline.
- CPC certification; CPC or CPMA credentials are listed.
- At least three years of overall medical coding experience.
- At least three years of multispecialty surgery coding experience, including IVR and General Surgery.
- Experience coding outpatient surgery cases.
- Familiarity with APC facility coding is an advantage.
- Proficiency with computers and standard computer applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid knowledge of injections and infusions.
- Ability to understand and follow the telecommuter policy.
- A high-speed broadband internet connection at home.
- Availability to work from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM IST.
- Auditing and denial management experience is optional.
