Senior Cloud Network Engineer - Stuttgart (Hybrid)

Design and secure GCP and hybrid networks supporting CACI’s SOCEUR defense mission. Lead infrastructure automation, connectivity, network security, and container networking across mission environments.

Description

  • Design and implement enterprise-wide GCP cloud and hybrid network architectures, covering VPCs, subnetting, routing, and firewall policies
  • Lead secure hybrid connectivity deployments using Cloud Interconnect, dedicated VPNs, and tactical communication integrations such as TMN
  • Define and administer Terraform-based network infrastructure as code for consistent, automated, and auditable deployments
  • Architect and configure layered network protections, including VPC Service Controls, Cloud Armor WAF, and next-generation virtual firewall appliances
  • Deploy and manage GCP load balancers to support availability and efficient traffic distribution
  • Analyze network traffic and improve bandwidth utilization with Google Cloud Observability and Network Intelligence Center
  • Design and operate networking for containerized applications, including GKE cluster networking, Istio-style service meshes, and pod communication policies
  • Create and maintain detailed network architecture diagrams and standard operating procedures
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity architects, DevSecOps engineers, and mission owners to deliver resilient, high-performance connectivity for Allied, partner, and US operations

Requirements

  • US citizenship and an active TS/SCI security clearance are required
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent practical experience
  • DoD 8570.01-M or DoD 8140 IAT Level II certification, or a higher baseline such as CompTIA Security+ or CISSP
  • At least 8 years of network engineering experience, including 5 or more years designing and operating cloud and hybrid networks on a major cloud platform; GCP experience is preferred
  • Advanced ability to define network infrastructure as code with Terraform
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise networking protocols and concepts, including BGP, IPSec, DNS, and load balancing
  • Hands-on experience with GCP networking services such as VPC, Cloud Interconnect, VPN, Cloud Armor, and VPC Service Controls
  • Proficiency in a scripting language such as Python or Bash for network automation
  • Google Cloud Professional Cloud Network Engineer certification
  • A master’s degree in computer science or a related discipline is desirable
  • Google Cloud Professional Cloud Security Engineer certification is desirable
  • A professional networking certification such as Cisco CCNP or an equivalent is desirable
  • Experience designing air-gapped or limited-connectivity networks and familiarity with Cross-Domain Solutions is desirable
  • Experience with Kubernetes or GKE container networking and service mesh technologies is desirable
  • ITIL v3 or v4 Foundations certification is desirable
