Senior Civil Engineer – Houston Hybrid

Lead civil engineering support for Enbridge compressor station expansion and maintenance projects in Houston. Coordinate designs, engineering consultants, and regulatory compliance.

Description

  • Support civil and structural engineering for compressor station expansion and maintenance capital projects
  • Oversee work performed by third-party engineering firms
  • Verify that project designs meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and Enbridge specifications
  • Interpret Enbridge standards and regulatory requirements to support compliance
  • Partner with project teams to resolve design challenges through sound engineering solutions
  • Track third-party design deliverables against project budgets and schedules
  • Review and approve drawings, technical reports, and material listing sheets
  • Evaluate vendor material quotations
  • Prepare technical assessments and recommend selections based on technical merit, cost, and delivery
  • Apply lessons learned from previous projects to future designs
  • Contribute to departmental initiatives as needed
  • Coordinate with multiple project teams in an office-based setting
  • Define project scope in the field and support construction and commissioning activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
  • At least six years of professional experience
  • Working knowledge of US oil and gas regulatory requirements and industry codes and standards
  • Ability to work independently, manage several projects, and prioritize competing tasks
  • Ability to solve problems using established, adapted, or experience-based standards
  • Ability to explain technical issues and their effects to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Professional Engineer designation preferred
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to deliver work within time-sensitive deadlines
  • Ability to meet physical demands such as grasping, kneeling, lifting up to 45 pounds, reaching overhead, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, visual tasks, and hearing
  • Ability to understand, retain, and apply oral and written instructions
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and collaborate on alternative solutions
  • Ability to express ideas and organize information in clear terminology
  • Ability to plan and prioritize short-term work assignments
  • Ability to make moderately impactful decisions and monitor their results
  • Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines
  • Ability to complete routine forms and prepare letters, outlines, memoranda, and basic reports
  • Ability to communicate by telephone
