Senior Catheter Engineering Technician – Heraeus, Fridley, MN

Heraeus seeks a senior engineering technician to support catheter process development and manufacturing in Fridley, Minnesota. The role covers commercialization, technical documentation, process optimization, and production support.

Description

  • Deliver advanced hands-on support for engineering and process-development initiatives with limited engineering oversight.
  • Own technical expertise for equipment, tooling, process setup, and scalable manufacturing readiness.
  • Create, update, and control manufacturing and process documentation.
  • Define and manage process windows, controls, and critical operating parameters.
  • Investigate root causes and implement practical manufacturing and technical remedies.
  • Help move new products and technologies from development into production.
  • Train and coach manufacturing staff on relevant processes and practices.
  • Improve processes, tooling, and production results through controlled, documented changes.
  • Use ERP, SPC, and related systems to support engineering work, manufacturing coordination, scheduling, and shipments.
  • Provide technical assistance to Sales, Customer, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Develop technicians and colleagues through ongoing training and mentorship.
  • Follow quality systems, process-change requirements, and documentation standards.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED is required; a two-year technical degree is strongly preferred.
  • At least five years of relevant experience in engineering, manufacturing, or process development.
  • Hands-on experience with catheter assembly, braiding, reflow, tipping, and inspection.
  • Background in regulated manufacturing, ideally medical-device or OEM production.
  • Experience using ERP, SPC, and manufacturing documentation systems.
  • A track record of supporting complex projects through commercialization.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple technical priorities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to positive customer and stakeholder experiences.
