Senior Capital Accountant - Remote in Nevada
Senior Accountant responsible for financial statements, reconciliations, reporting, general ledger activity, and internal controls at MGM Resorts International. Full-time remote role based in Nevada.
Description
- Support monthly financial statement preparation under GAAP and company policies
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Complete ad hoc accounting projects assigned by management
- Record general ledger transactions accurately and on schedule
- Assess and implement internal controls
- Deliver accurate routine and ad hoc financial reports
- Plan project needs and maintain resource availability
- Design, measure, and oversee effective analytical and control activities
- Manage projects in line with established plans
- Support corporate department systems and process implementations
- Maintain accounting records and practices in accordance with GAAP and MGM Resorts International policies
- Oversee resource allocation, performance, competing priorities, internal customer expectations, and service-level agreement results
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and international requirements, including SOX, gaming regulations, minimum internal control standards, IRS rules, anti-money laundering laws, and internal control requirements
- Lead and communicate corporate strategies that provide high-quality, cost-effective support services
- Foster a workplace centered on teamwork, feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field
- At least three years of relevant auditing or accounting experience
- Experience working with all levels of management, including executives, and consulting with key business stakeholders — preferred
- Experience extracting financial reports and using financial data to support recommendations and decisions — preferred
- Experience preparing and reviewing general ledger account reconciliations — preferred
- Experience with monthly and quarterly financial reporting, including profit and loss review — preferred
- At least two years of gaming industry experience — preferred
- Familiarity with MGM Resorts International gaming and financial systems, including Tandem, CMS, MachineAccounting, CBS, Bravo Poker, XpertX, Mlife, Showcase Strategy, Cognos Finance, Oracle ERP Cloud, and Oracle EPM Cloud — preferred
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel — preferred
- Bilingual ability, with English as a primary or secondary language — preferred
- Previous experience in a comparable corporate environment — preferred
