Senior Business Analyst, Xray Test Management

Lead Xray migration and test traceability across roughly 100 enterprise applications, coordinating manual testers and development teams. Support Niyam IT’s federal government technology work in a hybrid role in Virginia.

Description

  • Coordinate the inventory, cleanup, and migration of approximately 5,000–10,000 manual test cases into Xray.
  • Link approximately 40,000–50,000 automated test cases to manual cases across about 100 enterprise applications.
  • Set minimum content standards for test cases drawn from Word documents, spreadsheets, handwritten notes, and other sources.
  • Use automated testing data sheets as the record of automation coverage.
  • Manage Cucumber BDD cases in Xray through Git integration.
  • Train and guide manual testers and application development teams.
  • Set ownership, intake, and review schedules with application teams.
  • Report weekly on onboarded applications, loaded and mapped cases, blockers, documentation gaps, and backlog.
  • Create or coordinate system training, learning materials, and educational tools.
  • Write and maintain procedures for loading and maintaining test cases.
  • Document how Xray fits into the SDLC and change-request process.
  • Define traceability links between manual and automated cases, requirements or user stories, and defects.
  • Find duplicate, outdated, incomplete, or conflicting test cases and coordinate decisions on their disposition.
  • Set repository standards for naming, folder structure, test sets, and test data.
  • Advise the client on system inputs, processes, and outputs.
  • Agree on project plans and timelines with clients.
  • Prepare reports, timelines, and graphics for management, customers, investors, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain documentation and coordinate or conduct testing of system changes.
  • Work with the Project Manager to address client needs.
  • Investigate system issues and assess their effects.
  • Fulfill client database requests for data samples, project analysis, test verification, and other user needs.

Requirements

  • Be a U.S. citizen and able to pass a federal background investigation.
  • Have a bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, or a related area, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
  • Bring at least 8 years of experience as a business analyst, test analyst, or in a similar facilitation role supporting an enterprise application portfolio.
  • Show ability to lead cross-functional work without direct authority over participants.
  • Have experience with a test management repository.
  • Know manual test-case design and automated testing concepts, including Selenium, Playwright, and BDD/Cucumber.
  • Have experience writing standard operating procedures and integrating tools into SDLC and change-control processes.
  • Demonstrate strong status reporting, backlog management, and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Be able to standardize inconsistent source materials into a repository and uphold its standards.
  • Communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
  • Be highly proficient with Microsoft Office or comparable software.
  • Be highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Bring strong management skills, including the ability to lead, facilitate, motivate, and organize.
  • Adapt readily to change.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
