Description

  • Design and develop scalable backend services, APIs, data pipelines, and platform infrastructure across the Sureel stack
  • Take ownership of systems from architecture and implementation through deployment, observability, debugging, and ongoing refinement
  • Develop infrastructure for high-volume AI, media, attribution, search, retrieval, and enterprise workloads
  • Productionize experimental models and algorithms in collaboration with the AI team
  • Advance MLOps across model deployment, inference, versioning, evaluation, monitoring, and reproducibility
  • Manage and enhance DevOps and cloud infrastructure, including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, containers, orchestration, security, observability, and reliable deployments
  • Deliver enterprise features including authentication, RBAC, multi-tenancy, auditability, bulk operations, integrations, and configurable workflows
  • Guide architecture across databases, queues, caching, distributed systems, compute, storage, networking, reliability, and cost
  • Partner with Product, customers, and AI collaborators to translate complex needs into scalable technical solutions
  • Create internal tools and automation for engineering and research teams
  • Apply coding agents, agentic frameworks, AI-assisted debugging and research, automated testing, and emerging development practices

Requirements

  • Senior-level software engineer with substantial backend and platform engineering expertise
  • Track record of personally designing, building, deploying, and operating meaningful production systems
  • Advanced proficiency in a modern backend programming language
  • Extensive experience working with TypeScript and Node.js
  • Working knowledge of databases, networking, concurrency, APIs, distributed systems, queues, caching, cloud infrastructure, and failure modes
  • Strong experience with cloud platforms, DevOps, and production infrastructure
  • Familiarity with model serving, GPU workloads, inference, data pipelines, embeddings, evaluation, and MLOps
  • Experience incorporating AI into the software engineering workflow
  • Ability to reason from first principles and resolve complex technical challenges
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced startup environment with substantial ownership and ambiguity
  • Additional experience with GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, AWS DynamoDB or another NoSQL database, Meilisearch, vector search, distributed processing, GPU infrastructure, enterprise SaaS, developer APIs or SDKs, TypeScript/React, agentic development frameworks, or large-scale audio and media systems is preferred
