Description

  • Design and deliver secure, resilient IT systems that support business operations
  • Operate and optimise cloud infrastructure for reliable, highly available services
  • Monitor cloud environments, resolve issues, and apply established operational practices
  • Build and administer AWS Landing Zones with multi-account structures, guardrails, and governance
  • Implement shared networking, IAM, logging, monitoring, and security baseline services
  • Develop cloud architectures that are scalable, secure, and compliant
  • Create reusable AWS CDK modules in infrastructure as code for compute, networking, storage, and security
  • Manage infrastructure in version control and maintain consistent deployments across Dev, QA, and Prod
  • Automate environment provisioning and application releases through CI/CD pipelines
  • Define alarms, dashboards, log groups, and metric filters through infrastructure as code
  • Provide monitoring coverage for shared services and application workloads
  • Investigate networking, IAM, application, infrastructure, pipeline, and deployment problems
  • Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures
  • Work with clients and internal teams to deliver quality outcomes and anticipate their needs

Requirements

  • Five to seven years of experience working as an AWS Infrastructure Engineer
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, VPC, Transit Gateway, Route 53, IAM, Lambda, S3, RDS, ECS/EKS, and CloudWatch
  • Experience building and operating AWS Landing Zones with multi-account structures, guardrails, and governance
  • Experience implementing shared networking, IAM, logging, monitoring, and security baseline services
  • Knowledge of AWS security practices covering IAM baselines, KMS, Secrets Manager, key rotation, and access controls
  • Advanced AWS CDK experience using TypeScript for infrastructure as code
  • Experience developing reusable IaC modules for compute, networking, storage, and security
  • Experience managing infrastructure in GitLab repositories
  • Experience maintaining consistent releases across Dev, QA, and Prod environments
  • Experience with GitLab CI/CD runners, pipelines, and automation
  • Experience using Octopus Deploy for release automation
  • Experience with GoCD for pipeline orchestration
  • Strong grasp of CI/CD principles, Git workflows, and DevOps practices
  • Experience automating environment creation and application deployments
  • Experience with CloudWatch, CloudTrail, X-Ray, and centralised logging patterns
  • Experience defining alarms, dashboards, log groups, and metric filters through IaC
  • Experience ensuring monitoring coverage for shared services and application workloads
  • Familiarity with Docker and container orchestration through ECS/EKS
  • Understanding of container networking, scaling, and security
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills across infrastructure, pipelines, and deployments
  • Ability to investigate networking, IAM, and application-level problems
  • Ability to maintain documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures
  • Working knowledge of AWS CDK, AWS Landing Zone, GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket, and GoCD is required
  • Preferred certifications include AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional, AWS DevOps Engineer, and Terraform Associate; CKA or CKAD is desirable
