Senior Architectural Technician - Amey UK Onsite

Amey is seeking a Senior Architectural Technician to coordinate detailed design, tender documentation, and technical delivery across nuclear and complex infrastructure projects in the United Kingdom.

Description

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary project work across all RIBA stages
  • Lead delivery during detailed design
  • Apply governance procedures and technical assurance standards
  • Oversee coordination between project disciplines
  • Deliver design and specification work through tender documentation
  • Assess building condition surveys and define project categorisation and delivery approach
  • Produce designs, work schedules, and specifications
  • Coordinate design contributions from internal disciplines and external suppliers
  • Prepare or evaluate initial cost information and support programme development
  • Complete CDM design risk assessments when required
  • Follow the Integrated Management System throughout the design process
  • Secure client approvals and authority sign-off during the project lifecycle
  • Prepare applications and obtain statutory consents
  • Finalise design information and produce tender and Pre-Construction Information packages
  • Develop building designs and detailed drawings with CAD software
  • Work with construction professionals and contractors
  • Address planning law, environmental considerations, and budget constraints
  • Revise plans and resolve issues during project delivery
  • Attend building sites, proposed locations, and client meetings regularly

Requirements

  • Substantial technical experience delivering detailed designs for multidisciplinary projects
  • Background coordinating design activities across multiple disciplines
  • Experience taking design and specification work through tender documentation
  • Working knowledge of planning and Building Regulations approval procedures
  • Experience with condition surveys, design schedules, specifications, and coordinated design information
  • Experience producing CDM design risk assessments
  • Experience developing building designs and detailed CAD drawings
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SketchUp, and BIM
  • Experience delivering projects under contract arrangements such as Design and Build
  • Knowledge of Building Regulations, planning, health and safety, and related legislation
  • Postgraduate or professional training in design environments such as commercial, transport, education, government, MOD, or MOJ
  • Strong computer skills and confident use of Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency with remote collaboration platforms including Microsoft Teams
  • Understanding of health and safety law, especially CDM Regulations
  • Eligibility to obtain MOD Baseline Security Clearance and MOJ clearance
  • CIAT membership is desirable
  • Experience with NBS and other relevant design or contract administration software is desirable
  • Experience using Bentley MicroStation is desirable
  • Rail or light rail project experience is desirable
  • Experience using ProjectWise is desirable
