Senior Architect DevOps Engineer - Remote, United States

Design secure, cloud-native architectures and DevSecOps pipelines for Koniag Technology Solutions’ federal government modernization projects. Support systems serving USDA agencies and mission operations.

Description

  • Design and document a scalable, multi-tenant architecture serving more than 10 USDA agencies
  • Align system architecture with cloud.gov hosting requirements and federal data standards
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated software builds, testing, and deployments
  • Implement and operate Zero Trust Architecture in accordance with NIST SP 800-207
  • Protect data at rest and in transit with FIPS 140-2 validated encryption solutions
  • Maintain deployment scripts and infrastructure configurations as the system evolves
  • Contribute to API design for integrations with USDA mission systems
  • Perform vulnerability scans and support security assessments and penetration testing
  • Maintain 99.99% availability during required business hours
  • Track devices and media that store sensitive government information
  • Verify that all software components remain supported and avoid end-of-life technologies
  • Support Koniag Technology Solutions and its federal customer on business and IT modernization initiatives

Requirements

  • Eligible to obtain a Public Trust
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, or a related field
  • At least 8 years of combined systems architecture and DevOps or infrastructure engineering experience
  • At least 3 years of experience working with federal government systems
  • Experience designing and implementing cloud-native architectures on cloud.gov, AWS GovCloud, or Azure Government
  • Practical experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for federal software systems
  • Experience implementing Zero Trust Architecture and supporting Authority to Operate (ATO) processes
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Ansible
  • Experience designing cloud-native, microservices-based architectures
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD platforms and infrastructure-as-code practices
  • Knowledge of FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST SP 800-53, and Zero Trust principles
  • Familiarity with cloud.gov or comparable government cloud platforms
  • Experience with API design and integration patterns
  • DevSecOps experience using OWASP ZAP, Snyk, or comparable security tools
