Senior Application Services Engineer — Germany Remote

Description
- Investigate and resolve complex incidents, operational problems, and performance issues
- Maintain the stability and security of business-critical services while driving continuous improvement
- Help shape architecture and design decisions across applications, databases, and middleware
- Plan, prioritize, and deliver technical initiatives independently
- Advance the operating environment through automation, process improvements, monitoring, and observability
- Apply security controls covering system hardening, certificate management, access rights, and compliance
- Manage complex support tickets through root cause analysis and durable remediation
- Coordinate closely with development, service, and infrastructure teams
- Assist customers with demanding technical challenges
Requirements
- Several years of experience running application, database, or middleware platforms
- A completed IT degree, IT specialist vocational qualification, or equivalent practical experience
- Strong knowledge in multiple areas such as Oracle databases or middleware, Linux or Windows systems, monitoring and observability, and automation with tools such as Ansible or scripting
- Ability to understand complex technical dependencies end to end and create lasting solutions
- Background in contributing to architecture or design decisions
- Organized, proactive, and efficient working style with a strong focus on quality and security
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach across teams
- Exposure to certificate management, complex application environments, or DevOps collaboration is beneficial
- German proficiency at B1 level or higher
- English proficiency is beneficial
