- Create AI-powered tools and workflows to increase business efficiency
- Apply AI to coding, automation, data processing, product management, customer service, and internal operations
- Develop and maintain backend applications, APIs, integrations, and internal tools
- Build or enhance a Product Information Management (PIM) system
- Manage and improve product catalogs containing more than 100,000 SKUs
- Improve product imports, vendor feeds, pricing, inventory, categorization, and data quality
- Connect Shopify with CRM, order management, shipping, vendor, and other business systems
- Turn manual or inefficient processes into practical technical solutions
- Partner with the lead developer on architecture, integrations, and major development initiatives
- Assess emerging AI tools for business and software development use cases
Requirements
- Senior-level development experience
- Proficiency with Python and Django
- Shopify development experience, including Liquid and theme work or React, Hydrogen, and headless commerce
- Experience with e-commerce platforms, web applications, APIs, and system architecture
- Experience with SQL and database management
- Experience creating AI- or LLM-powered tools, integrations, and automations
- Experience with PIM, CRM, ERP, or order management systems
- Experience managing large product catalogs and product data
- Experience with search technologies such as Algolia or Elasticsearch
- Experience in furniture, home furnishings, or another product-focused retail environment is advantageous
- Ability to translate business challenges into practical solutions using AI, automation, and conventional development
- Ability to collaborate effectively with an established development team
