Senior Actuarial Analyst, Individual Annuity Pricing – Phoenix Group (Hybrid, UK)

Lead pricing analysis for Standard Life’s individual annuity products, assessing competitiveness, assumptions and market data. Your insights will support customer value, profitability and retirement business growth.

Description

  • Assess pricing competitiveness and market trends to identify opportunities that balance customer value, market position and profitability
  • Prepare pricing management information and translate data into actionable commercial recommendations
  • Deliver controlled and accurate pricing changes in production environments
  • Help develop and review pricing bases and underlying assumptions
  • Support the continued development and improvement of Lifetime and Fixed-Term Annuity products
  • Complete pricing calculations and evaluate proposition, market and business data to inform decisions
  • Present analysis and emerging market insights as recommendations to senior stakeholders
  • Improve pricing tools, processes and overall capability by identifying and implementing enhancements
  • Work with colleagues across the business to advance broader commercial objectives

Requirements

  • Hold part-qualified actuarial status
  • Bring relevant experience in the insurance sector
  • Be committed to completing full actuarial qualification
  • Have experience and a sound understanding of pricing in a retail flow business
  • Experience in individual annuity pricing is particularly advantageous
  • Understand key pricing measures and applicable regulatory frameworks, including Solvency II and IFRS
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and quantitative ability
  • Apply a practical approach to solving problems
  • Communicate complex analysis and information as clear insights and recommendations
  • Have strong working knowledge of Excel, VBA and Power BI
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively
  • Show a proactive, inquisitive approach
  • Be motivated to expand your technical and commercial expertise
