Semi-Senior Backend Software Engineer, Credits

Build Ruby backend services for credit and payment products serving Latin American restaurants. Work on scalable, secure systems with APIs, databases, CI/CD, observability, and fraud prevention.

Description

  • Design, develop, and maintain Ruby backend services.
  • Ensure the system processes high transaction volumes efficiently with low latency.
  • Apply security best practices for sensitive data and fraud prevention.
  • Write automated unit and integration tests within CI/CD pipelines.
  • Mentor other team members.
  • Conduct code reviews and maintain development quality without slowing production releases.
  • Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting strategies with OpenSearch, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and CloudWatch to support high availability and rapid anomaly detection.
  • Monitor metrics and alerts, respond to incidents, and help resolve them quickly.

Requirements

  • Advanced student or graduate in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Informatics, or a related field, or currently completing the final years of the program; this is required.
  • Two to four years of backend development experience.
  • Understanding of API development, design, and usage.
  • Knowledge of relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
  • Git proficiency beyond standard commands and an understanding of the value of a clear, well-organized commit history.
  • Experience at a payment gateway, fintech company, or similar organization is a strong advantage.
  • Experience with Ruby.
  • Ability to program in other languages.
  • Understanding of the full technology stack, including React and Flutter.
