Research Analyst, Digital Insights (Hybrid - Washington, DC)

Support quantitative and qualitative research engagements at FTI Consulting. Develop surveys, analyze data, and help produce clear, client-ready insights.

Description

  • Create primary research materials such as questionnaires, discussion guides, and other research instruments
  • Help define survey specifications, sample quotas, banner plans, table shells, and analysis requirements
  • Check research deliverables for accuracy and completeness
  • Support survey fieldwork, link testing, vendor coordination, focus group logistics, schedule tracking, and quality assurance
  • Prepare initial drafts of PowerPoint presentations, toplines, data tables, and written findings summaries
  • Validate survey data, tabulations, and other research outputs for accuracy and consistency
  • Help prepare, document, analyze, and develop findings from focus groups and in-depth interviews
  • Support senior team members with project management on larger and more complex engagements
  • Help improve research processes, tools, and methodologies, including AI-powered approaches
  • Collaborate with senior team members on quantitative and qualitative research projects

Requirements

  • At least one year of professional experience in primary research, market research, or insights-related work
  • Familiarity with quantitative and/or qualitative research methods
  • Understanding of questionnaire design, sampling, and survey data-quality principles
  • Experience supporting survey research projects through activities such as questionnaire development, testing, fieldwork, data cleaning, tabulation, or analysis
  • Experience with survey programming or platforms such as Qualtrics, Forsta/Decipher, or comparable tools is preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially PowerPoint
  • Proficiency with Excel for organizing, reviewing, and analyzing data
  • Ability to interpret survey results, tables, and charts and identify meaningful patterns, differences, and unexpected findings
  • High attention to detail
  • Comfort testing AI and emerging technologies with sound judgment and appropriate quality controls
  • Willingness to travel to clients and FTI offices
  • Current authorization to work full time in the United States
  • FTI Consulting will not sponsor work visas
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate research findings clearly and concisely
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at the same time
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and offices in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
