Remote RCM Collections Specialist and Medical Biller

Manage payer billing and collections for infusion care, including invoice follow-up, payment posting, denials, and appeals. Support Option Care Health’s home infusion operations remotely from the Mountain or Pacific Time Zone.

Description

  • Submit accurate, timely invoices to payers for products and services.
  • Apply contract terms and fee schedules to submitted invoices.
  • Calculate quantities and prices for billed drugs.
  • Confirm services and products are authorized and required documentation is on file.
  • Review payments for accuracy and post them to patient accounts.
  • Mail secondary bills and patient invoices within 48 hours of receiving payment.
  • Alert the Reimbursement Manager to overpayments and duplicate payments.
  • Transfer payments for other offices within 48 hours.
  • Follow up on invoices to support prompt payment.
  • Confirm claims have been received and are being processed.
  • Contact patients or responsible parties when insurers have not paid within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Prepare and mail statements and collection letters.
  • Follow up on denials within 48 hours.
  • Support billing and collections training.
  • Prepare second-level appeals to payers.
  • Follow contract terms and fee schedules, and comply with HIPAA guidelines.

Requirements

  • Applicants must currently live in the Mountain or Pacific Time Zone.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Zero to six months of experience in infusion reimbursement or intake/admissions.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and patient and business confidentiality.
  • Understanding of payer contracts and fee schedules.
  • Ability to determine quantities and prices for billed drugs.
  • Ability to verify authorizations and required documentation.
