Description

  • Operate as a pilot and other controller roles within an air traffic controller training simulator
  • Use simulated radar displays and voice communication systems during medium- and high-fidelity training exercises
  • Process student voice commands and enter the correct data into automated systems to replicate pilot actions
  • Convert displayed information into accurate air traffic control terminology
  • Communicate with students through the voice communication system using appropriate phraseology
  • Earn Classroom certification by passing an examination covering airspace and procedures
  • Earn Lab certification by performing Remote Pilot Operator duties across all positions
  • Provide support for FAA air traffic controller training services

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to read and understand diagrams, manuals, and similar materials
  • Clear verbal communication skills
  • Prior experience and certification in an ATC Tower, TRACON, or En Route simulation laboratory preferred but not required
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Familiarity with FAAO JO 7110.65 preferred but not required
