Description
- Prepare individual federal and state income tax returns
- Gather, review, and organize tax documents supplied by clients
- Accurately enter tax data into professional preparation software
- Check completed returns for accuracy and completeness before filing
- Contact clients about missing or supplemental documentation
- Keep client records organized and accurate
- Safeguard confidential taxpayer and financial information
- Comply with IRS rules, regulations, company policies, and due diligence standards
- Complete required training, compliance activities, and continuing education
- Provide responsive customer service and foster relationships with returning clients
- Promote tax-preparation services and expand the client base through networking, referrals, and community outreach
- Complete assigned work within tax-season deadlines
- Represent Polished Talent Group with professionalism and integrity
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting
- Basic computer skills
- Responsible handling of confidential financial information
- Prior tax-preparation or financial-services experience is helpful but not required
- Active IRS Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN), or willingness to obtain one before preparing returns
- Successful completion of required tax-preparation training before preparing client returns
