Remote Design Consultant – Retail Bank Projects

Turner & Townsend is seeking a remote Design Consultant to oversee design delivery for retail bank projects across the United States. The role coordinates consultants, budgets, compliance, and architectural outcomes.

Description

  • Oversee external design consultants, including architects, engineers, and specialty contractors, from appointment through construction administration
  • Verify that design deliverables reflect client branding, functional needs, and sustainability objectives
  • Review designs at key project milestones against the brief and technical specifications
  • Lead value-engineering efforts while protecting design quality and intent
  • Identify potential design-schedule risks early and put mitigation measures in place
  • Bring internal stakeholders, project managers, and design teams together to resolve technical issues
  • Maintain documentation for permits and regulatory submissions
  • Advocate for the client’s interests in design meetings
  • Create and present architectural briefs informed by business and stakeholder needs
  • Monitor consultant deliverables for accuracy, transparency, and accessibility
  • Act as the main contact for design oversight and strategic coordination throughout the project lifecycle

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or B.F.A. in Interior Design from a CIDA-accredited program, or a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program
  • One to five years of experience in commercial design, construction, or project management
  • Ability to understand, evaluate, and interpret complex business and technical documentation
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, and Revit
  • Familiarity with financial concepts such as budget analysis and project-cost tracking
  • Confidence delivering clear, persuasive presentations to clients, managers, and project teams
  • Strong negotiation skills for working with external consultants and internal stakeholder groups
  • Solid knowledge of building codes, zoning requirements, and standard industry procurement practices
  • Ability to make sound decisions based on company policies and business practices
  • NCIDQ certification or architectural registration is preferred
