Remote Accounting Manager at Tradeify

Lead close, revenue recognition, audits, controls, and scalable accounting operations for Tradeify, a proprietary trading firm funding traders worldwide. Manage complex transaction accounting while developing systems and the accounting team.

Description

  • Own month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities to deliver accurate financial statements on schedule.
  • Oversee the general ledger, payables, receivables, payroll accounting, and bank and payment processor reconciliations.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and flux analyses.
  • Manage multi-entity, multi-currency, and intercompany accounting.
  • Apply ASC 606 by evaluating performance obligations, transaction prices, and revenue allocation and recognition.
  • Account for high-volume transaction revenue, including evaluation fees, subscriptions, resets, refunds, discounts, and other variable consideration.
  • Create and maintain technical accounting memos and documented revenue policies.
  • Evaluate the accounting effects of new products, pricing updates, and contract terms.
  • Maintain deferred revenue schedules and reconcile them with the general ledger and payment processor records.
  • Oversee trader payout accounting, including accruals, liabilities, and reconciliations.
  • Lead relationships with external auditors, including planning, PBC requests, workpapers, and timelines.
  • Maintain audit-ready schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation throughout the year.
  • Answer auditor questions and address audit adjustments and findings.
  • Help design, document, and test financial reporting controls and close identified gaps.
  • Work with tax advisors and bookkeepers on filings and regulatory compliance.
  • Document accounting procedures, close checklists, and process narratives with the Controller.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and variance analysis.
  • Find ways to automate and improve accounting processes and systems.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop accounting team members.
  • Report to the Controller and collaborate with Finance, Operations, and Payments on scalable systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
  • At least five years of progressive accounting experience, including two or more years in a supervisory or management position.
  • Strong US GAAP knowledge and practical experience applying ASC 606 to real-world transactions.
  • Experience supporting external financial statement audits, including PBC materials, workpapers, and auditor communications.
  • Experience managing month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Hands-on experience with an ERP or accounting platform such as NetSuite, QuickBooks Online, Xero, or Sage Intacct.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Experience with multi-entity consolidation and reconciliation of high-volume transaction data.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Public accounting or audit experience preferred.
  • Experience preparing technical accounting memos and assessing complex revenue arrangements preferred.
  • Background in fintech, trading, payments, e-commerce, or another high-volume digital business preferred.
  • Experience with payment processors such as Stripe, plus crypto or alternative payment methods, preferred.
  • Familiarity with SOX-style controls and audit readiness preferred.
  • Experience with BI or data tools such as SQL and Looker, along with process automation, preferred.
  • Availability for flexible hours supporting collaboration across time zones, including the United States.
