Quantum PDK OPC Engineer

Develop and optimize process design kit OPC technology files and computational lithography solutions at GlobalFoundries. Improve semiconductor pattern fidelity, manufacturability, process margins, and yield through simulation, wafer analysis, and cross-functional engineering.

Description

  • Develop, qualify, maintain, and optimize OPC technology files, recipes, and computational lithography solutions for advanced semiconductor lithography processes
  • Evaluate OPC strategies, model-based corrections, and patterning methods to improve wafer fidelity, process windows, manufacturability, and yield
  • Partner with design rule, lithography, etch, metrology, modeling, mask, and computational infrastructure engineers
  • Investigate printing, patterning, and yield-limiting hotspots through simulation, wafer data, design data, and computational lithography analysis
  • Validate and release OPC solutions using simulation-to-wafer correlation, process-window analysis, hotspot verification, and controlled quality procedures
  • Create automated analysis, verification, and data-processing workflows that improve OPC efficiency, coverage, reproducibility, and cycle time
  • Advance practices in OPC, computational lithography, patterning optimization, and design-to-manufacturing collaboration
  • Contribute to cross-functional semiconductor technology projects and communicate technical findings, risks, recommendations, and readiness
  • Carry out work safely while supporting Environmental, Health, Safety & Security programs and requirements
  • Support additional projects and assignments as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, applied physics, materials science, chemical engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • Relevant experience in optical proximity correction, computational lithography, semiconductor lithography, patterning, or a related field, consistent with the applicable GF career level and scope
  • Working knowledge of semiconductor lithography, optical proximity effects, OPC principles, process-window behavior, pattern fidelity, and manufacturing fundamentals
  • Experience with computational lithography, OPC development, lithography simulation, hotspot analysis, or related semiconductor patterning tools and methods
  • Ability to interpret complex simulation and wafer data, conduct structured root-cause analysis, and convert findings into computational or process improvements
  • Experience using scripting or programming for engineering automation and data analysis, including Python, Perl, Tcl, shell scripting, or equivalent
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%
  • Fluent written and spoken English
