Python Backend Engineer (Remote, India)

Description

  • Plan, develop, and test new product features
  • Apply prior experience to help create fintech solutions
  • Partner with engineers, designers, product managers, and stakeholders to shape user experiences
  • Investigate and resolve bugs, including issues reported directly by users
  • Lead pull-request reviews while maintaining unit tests and code quality
  • Support the migration of modules into independent microservices
  • Develop features used by tens of thousands of customers

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of professional experience building web applications with modern software engineering practices
  • Strong proficiency in Python and Django
  • Ability to diagnose complex database performance problems
  • Experience creating performant, scalable backends and making practical engineering tradeoffs
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and concisely
  • Experience in an early-stage startup is highly valued
  • Experience in fintech or accounting is helpful
  • Experience integrating ERP or accounting systems is helpful
  • Exposure to purchase orders is helpful
  • AWS DevOps experience is helpful
  • A strong product mindset is helpful
