Project Engineer – Oil & Gas Facilities | Halker | Colorado Remote

Lead oil and gas facility projects for Halker from Colorado, coordinating engineering teams, budgets, designs, vendors, and client deliverables.

Description

  • Champion Halker’s Project Delivery Process across all assigned projects
  • Define engineering scope, schedules, and budgets for assigned projects
  • Track project progress against schedule and budget targets
  • Manage team performance across schedule, cost, and quality objectives
  • Coordinate project phases through completion within approved time and cost constraints
  • Confirm that all engineering disciplines meet client criteria and project scope
  • Review project deliverables for alignment with engineering principles, company standards, customer requirements, and applicable industry specifications
  • Lead or participate in meetings to resolve technical and project-related issues
  • Evaluate and approve design changes, specifications, and drawing releases or reviews with discipline leads
  • Coordinate with field personnel, vendors, and other engineering disciplines
  • Provide technical troubleshooting and problem-solving support for project issues
  • Build client relationships and maintain clear communication between clients and project teams
  • Coordinate the installation, maintenance, and operation of oil field equipment
  • Prepare weekly client reports covering project status, issues, deliverables, and budget or billing updates

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline
  • At least five years of project management, project engineering, or relevant engineering or construction experience in the oil and gas industry
  • Upstream or midstream oil and gas experience is preferred
  • Experience coordinating vendors and field crews
  • Demonstrated experience directly overseeing and managing facility and plant design
  • Extensive facility design experience spanning piping, foundations, structures, instrumentation and electrical systems, distributed control systems, programmable logic controllers, process controls, and safety systems
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Flexibility to shift priorities and adapt quickly between tasks
  • Strong relationship-building skills with excellent written and verbal communication
