Project and Contract Manager - GE Vernova, Berlin Hybrid

Lead complex industrial customer projects for GE Vernova from order entry through warranty, balancing commercial, operational, and strategic priorities. Coordinate SAP, logistics, claims, finance, quality, installation, and international delivery activities.

Description

  • Lead operational, commercial, and strategic delivery of complex customer projects within the Trading & Product+ segment
  • Oversee the full order lifecycle from entry and execution through closeout and warranty completion
  • Maintain compliance with SQCD standards covering safety, quality, cost, and delivery
  • Coordinate working relationships among the factory, Procurement, Finance, Installation teams, and customers
  • Keep administrative records accurate and up to date across SAP and SharePoint
  • Plan and manage complex customer orders and sub-projects independently in SAP
  • Prepare and formally validate order confirmations while communicating approved changes
  • Maintain payment and revenue schedules and deliver ongoing reporting for project reviews
  • Address operational deviations proactively by improving processes and developing practical solutions
  • Assess project and process risks and coordinate appropriate corrective measures
  • Perform gap analyses and negotiate change requests as part of claims management
  • Oversee international material deliveries, including customs and export procedures
  • Support legally compliant quality standards through project records and certificate checks
  • Coordinate installation services in line with EHS requirements and supplier standards
  • Manage project commercial activities in SAP according to OTR processes and resolve outstanding invoices

Requirements

  • Commercial or technical vocational training completed, or a university degree
  • Relevant professional experience may substitute for formal qualifications, including for motivated career changers
  • Project management experience is preferred, particularly in plant engineering, high-voltage systems, or turnkey switchgear and substations
  • Basic understanding of logistics and customs, with PMI or IPMA certification considered an advantage
  • Genuine interest in electrical engineering products and projects
  • Structured, self-directed, and solution-focused working style
  • Able to manage several workstreams simultaneously and establish clear priorities
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
  • Fluent written and spoken German with strong negotiation ability
  • Good English for routine collaboration in an international setting
  • Available for occasional travel within Europe and, in some cases, worldwide
  • Prepared to support activities at other locations or construction sites
