Principal Software Engineer, C#/.NET Core and Python (Hybrid) at FactSet

Lead development of high-performance C#/.NET Core and Python services for FactSet’s investment data platform. The role covers IBOR systems, APIs, data pipelines, reconciliation tooling, and financial analytics.

Description

  • Develop and maintain high-throughput, low-latency backend services and APIs with C# and .NET Core
  • Create Python-based data pipelines, reconciliation tools, and analytical scripts using Pandas and NumPy
  • Shape architectural and design decisions for scalable, resilient, maintainable systems
  • Review code and uphold engineering quality standards
  • Use MongoDB and MySQL to support data integrity and application performance
  • Partner with Product Managers to clarify product and technical requirements
  • Mentor junior engineers and support their professional development

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of professional software engineering experience
  • Expertise in C# and the .NET Core ecosystem for enterprise backend development
  • Strong professional experience using Python for data analysis, scripting, or backend services
  • Substantial experience in the financial services industry
  • Strong understanding of trade lifecycles, equities, fixed income, derivatives, and position management
  • Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs
  • Solid knowledge of software design patterns
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline
  • Preferred: Hands-on experience with an IBOR or portfolio management system
  • Preferred: Experience with AWS and container technologies such as Docker or ECS
  • Preferred: Experience working with ServiceStack
