Principal Auditor, Dynamic Audit Resourcing Team (Hybrid)

Lead risk-based operational, financial, technology, and compliance audits at Capital One. Coach audit professionals and apply data analytics to evaluate internal controls.

Description

  • Lead smaller audits or manage significant components of larger engagements
  • Prepare engagement plans and audit programs based on identified risks
  • Design and perform procedures to evaluate internal control effectiveness
  • Document processes, analyze audit evidence, and identify potential issues
  • Maintain complete workpapers, including draft audit findings
  • Build effective relationships with clients and audit team members
  • Share audit information and progress with teams, clients, and the auditor-in-charge
  • Organize work and manage competing priorities across the team
  • Assume additional responsibilities to support team objectives
  • Coach, train, and provide feedback to audit staff, junior associates, and new hires
  • Contribute to operational, financial, technology, and compliance audits across Audit teams
  • Use data analytics and technology to strengthen audit execution

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or military experience
  • At least four years of auditing experience
  • At least one year leading audits and serving as auditor-in-charge preferred
  • At least two years of banking or financial services experience preferred
  • At least one year performing data analysis for internal audit or using Tableau, SQL, or Python preferred
  • At least one year of information systems auditing experience, including IT general controls testing, preferred
  • Master's degree in auditing, accounting, information systems, or business administration preferred
  • CIA, CPA, CISA, or another relevant certification preferred
  • Capital One will not sponsor new employment authorization applicants for this position
  • Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement, typically three days per week in person at one of the listed offices
