Platform Reliability Engineer (United States Remote)

Build secure, scalable cloud platforms supporting Redwood Logistics’ freight technology. Automate Kubernetes, CI/CD, observability, and developer self-service for engineering teams.

Description

  • Create and maintain reusable Terraform modules, Helm charts, GitOps templates, and shared platform services
  • Build self-service platform capabilities and golden paths that speed software delivery
  • Develop and evolve enterprise CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, security checks, deployment controls, and release automation
  • Operate highly available Kubernetes platforms with robust security, networking, scalability, and operational standards
  • Strengthen platform observability with metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, alerts, SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets
  • Assist engineering teams during production incident response
  • Lead post-incident reviews and deliver lasting reliability improvements
  • Reduce manual operations through automation
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve application reliability, resilience, performance, and operational readiness
  • Improve cloud costs, platform efficiency, and resource utilization

Requirements

  • At least five years of experience in platform engineering, site reliability engineering, or cloud infrastructure
  • Production experience with Azure and/or AWS
  • Hands-on production Kubernetes experience with AKS, EKS, or GKE
  • Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform or an equivalent tool
  • Experience with modern CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps
  • Practical GitOps experience with ArgoCD or Flux
  • Experience developing Helm charts
  • Linux systems administration and container technology experience
  • Scripting experience with PowerShell, Bash, Python, or Go
  • Experience with enterprise observability tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, LogicMonitor, or New Relic
  • Knowledge of cloud networking and identity technologies, including OIDC
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Experience working across Software Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, Architecture, Security, Data Engineering, and MLOps teams
