Pinterest Senior Counsel, Cloud and Technology Transactions

Lead complex cloud, SaaS, AI, and technology transactions for Pinterest’s global legal function. Advise cross-functional teams on infrastructure partnerships, commercial terms, and legal risk.

Description

  • Independently negotiate a substantial volume of complex SaaS, AI, compute infrastructure, data processing, professional services, and commercial agreements
  • Provide legal leadership for enterprise cloud negotiations with AWS and other cloud providers
  • Advise on pricing, committed spend, service descriptions, renewals, service levels, support, audit rights, termination, and exit provisions
  • Guide business partners on data security, privacy, AI, intellectual property, and broader commercial risks
  • Work with Engineering, Finance, Procurement, Security, and Privacy teams on cloud forecasts, budgets, and strategic decisions
  • Address uptime, continuity, subcontracting, data use, compliance, portability, and supplier accountability provisions
  • Put the commercial, financial, and legal terms of cloud infrastructure agreements into operational practice
  • Monitor committed spend and renewal dates while supporting reporting, audits, and compliance activities
  • Assess alternative technologies, providers, and contracting models
  • Build processes, playbooks, and systems that expand Pinterest’s global cloud and commercial contracting capabilities
  • Monitor developments in cloud contracting, licensing, consumption models, and industry practice

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor degree and at least eight years of legal experience
  • Substantial experience negotiating complex SaaS, cloud services, technology infrastructure, and commercial transactions
  • At least two years of in-house experience at a technology company preferred
  • Extensive experience with cloud compute, SaaS, hosting, data processing, professional services, and technology supplier agreements
  • Working knowledge of data privacy, data security, AI, and general commercial risk
  • Strong grasp of cloud computing business models, contracting structures, and pricing frameworks
  • Experience with consumption-based pricing, committed spend arrangements, and enterprise technology agreements
  • Experience partnering with Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, Finance, and Procurement teams on high-value technology transactions
  • Ability to convert negotiated contract terms into scalable internal processes and practical guidance
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain complex legal issues clearly
  • Collaborative relationship-building skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
