Payment and Approval Accountant - Pune Onsite

Manage payment execution, reconciliations, financial controls, and audits for Hempel’s global chemicals business. Support compliant finance operations through accurate payment processing and reporting.

Description

  • Process outgoing payments through multiple payment methods
  • Verify payment authorization and adherence to internal controls
  • Identify duplicate payments and resolve exceptions
  • Track bank transactions and payment statuses
  • Coordinate with banks, Treasury, Accounts Receivable, and Finance teams
  • Perform and document daily payment controls
  • Analyze payment performance, rejections, and exceptions
  • Assist with weekly payment reporting
  • Complete bank reconciliations when required
  • Maintain regulatory and currency compliance during payment processing
  • Attend team meetings and process alignment sessions
  • Maintain payment and approval records
  • Assist with month-end closing activities
  • Prepare and review monthly bank reconciliations
  • Execute internal controls accurately and on schedule
  • Prepare payment reports and supporting analysis
  • Assist with internal and external audits
  • Assess payment compliance and control effectiveness
  • Lead or contribute to payment process improvements
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects
  • Support the introduction of payment methods and regulatory updates
  • Provide backup for senior team members as needed

Requirements
