Part-time, onsite Sales Clerk serving military members and their families at Coast Guard Exchange in Clearwater. Responsibilities include customer service, merchandise sales, inventory support, and cash-register operations.

Description

  • Welcome customers and deliver attentive service
  • Maintain product knowledge and help customers choose merchandise
  • Address customer questions and concerns promptly
  • Sell merchandise and explain product features when needed
  • Conduct periodic stock counts and support inventory activities
  • Restock merchandise and keep displays orderly and presentable
  • Share customer requests with the supervisor or department head
  • Operate the cash register and accurately handle cash, checks, cards, and gift cards
  • Reconcile the till after each shift and submit sales records, funds, and related materials
  • Complete price changes, markdowns, markups, promotions, displays, signage, and item-label updates
  • Follow loss-prevention, shrink-awareness, safety, and emergency-preparedness procedures
  • Complete other related assignments as directed

Requirements

  • Read, understand, and explain product literature
  • Perform basic arithmetic, including counting, subtraction, multiplication, and division, for stocking and inventory tasks
  • Have high school coursework, a GED, or a high school diploma
  • Routinely lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift 25 pounds
  • Stand for extended periods
  • Previous retail merchandising or cashier experience is preferred
  • Be willing and able to work weekends
  • Be authorized to work in the United States
  • Successfully complete a federal background check and applicable pre-employment requirements
  • Males born after December 31, 1959, who are at least 18 years old must be registered with the Selective Service System unless exempt
  • Participate in direct deposit or electronic funds transfer
  • Submit a resume or written application in English
